Who I am

Welcome to my world of storytelling! My name is Criss Wynters, and I am an author from the beautiful Piedmont region of North Carolina. I am enrolled in the Occaneechi Saponi Nation. Growing up surrounded by nature’s beauty and rich cultural heritage, I developed a deep love for stories—especially those that connect us to our roots and the world around us.

I began my journey as a storyteller at the age of ten, inspired by the whispers of the forest, the flow of rivers, and the wisdom passed down through generations. Today, I am proud to write books that celebrate the magic of nature, the power of resilience, and the importance of preserving Indigenous oral traditions. My stories are crafted to inspire readers of all ages to explore their connections to the land, their heritage, and their dreams.

When I’m not writing, you can find me exploring local trails, soaking in the serenity of the outdoors, or spending time with family and friends who continually inspire my work. I also love connecting with readers and sharing the stories that shape us all.

I hope to spark a sense of wonder, belonging, and cultural appreciation through my books. Whether you’re here to explore my latest releases, learn more about my journey, or share a love of storytelling, I’m so glad you’re here.

Thank you for being part of this adventure with me!
